DROPSY CASE

The Delhi High Court has issued notice to the director of the Central Bureau of Investigation asking him to place before it the probe report on the adulteration of mustard oil which resulted in outbreak of dropsy claiming over 60 lives last year. The court also asked the Delhi government to file its reply to a rejoinder moved by petitioner B L Wadhera by September 7, 1999. Wadhera who had filed the public interest petition seeking investigation into the oil adulteration "racket', in his rejoinder, stated that the presence of fatal argemone was even reported in some brands this year.
