CONTAMINATED WATER
Industrial waste released into a lake in Dhaka has triggered the death of thousands of fish. The polluted lake water is also posing a health risk to slum dwellers who have been consuming these dead fish. "The (fish) plague is believed o have been caused by indiscriminate dumping of sewage and toxic waste produced by industries,' said a health official visiting the Gulshan-Baridhara lake in Dhaka.
