Restoring power
A unique system for immediate restoration of power and rectification of damaged transmission lines has been developed by the Power Grid Corporation Ltd (pgcl), Calcutta. Usually, repair of transmission lines that collapse in high storm conditions or hurricanes, takes a long time. The new system repairs damaged transmission lines very fast. According to A G Aggarwal, PGCL general manager for the eastern and northeastern region, the device needs no foundation.
