Final EIA/EMP report for Ganeshpur opencast project located in North Karanpura Coalfield District Latehar, State Jharkhand
The purpose of this report covering EIA/EMP is to integrate different environmental factors into project planning and decision making by studying probable changes in the various socio-economic and biophysical characteristics, which are likely to result from the proposed project, so as to achieve sustainable development of the area. The purpose of this study is to identify environmental risks, reduce conflicts by promoting community participation, minimize adverse environmental impacts, which will help decision makers i.e. regulators and project proponent to come to a rational conclusion for establishment of environmentally sustainable mining project. This study will help to understand the feasibility of sustainable production of normative 4 MTPA (Peak 5.5 MTPA) from Ganeshpur Opencast Coal Project.
