Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of In Re: Outrage as Parents End Life After Child's Dengue dated 17/08/2018 regarding solid waste management in Delhi.

According to the Supreme Court the problem of solid waste management in Delhi "will certainly require the active cooperation and assistance of the residents of Delhi considering the fact that the position is very critical". Court asks the Lt. Governor who is incharge of overseeing solid waste management in Delhi to constitute a Committee to go in depth into all aspects of solid waste management in Delhi including cleaning up the dumpsites in Gazipur, Bhalswa and Okhla and frame a workable and implementable policy. Court made it clear that the "decision making process in the Committee to be collaborative and to be conducted in a manner that will take the cleaning up of Delhi forward rather than creating hurdles in the issue of solid waste management. The approach to policy making must be positive."
