Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Anubhav Kumar Vs Union of India & Others dated 28/01/2021.

The question for consideration was the remedial action against air pollution in and around the areas of Rani Bagh, Shakurbasti, Raja Park, Punjabi Bagh, Srinagar and Madipur near Shakurbasti Railway Station, Delhi, on account of unscientific manner in which loading/unloading of cement is being undertaken.

M/s CRWC has implemented the air pollution control measures. as recommended by the Expert Committee and the same has been verified by DPCC. CRWC has deposited both interim and final environmental compensation to CPCB. Central Railway Warehouse (CRWC) has implemented the air pollution control measures as  recommended by the Expert Committee and the same has been verified by DPCC. CRWC has deposited both interim and final environmental compensation to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Northern Railways (NR) has deposited interim EC of Rs. 71.62.500/-. However, NR has not submitted the action plan for construction of warehouse and installation of conveyor belts. No timelines have been provided for completion of road construction and deployment of agency for regular cleaning of platform/siding - this was stated in the CPCB report of January 4, 2021.

The NGT directed the Northern Railways to furnish its action plan to the CPCB and the DPCC.
