A cost-benefit analysis of Tamil Nadu urban sanitation improvement plans

The world has made great strides in improving sanitation conditions in recent decades. However, despite these achievements, there are still several obstacles to achieving the sanitation-related Sustainable Development Goals.This case study demonstrates how cost-benefit analysis can be used to assess the economic and social viability of sanitation improvement projects, using the example of a city-wide fecal sludge management project implemented in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.
