Order of the Supreme Court in the matter of Bhopal Municipal Corporation Vs Subhash C Pandey dated 03/10/2023.
Bhopal Municipal Corporation had filed the application in the apex court praying for stopping the direction for the payment of compensation for its failure to manage municipal solid waste.
The SC said that though there is a stay in the order directing payment of compensation, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation should file a detailed affidavit setting out the steps taken by the municipality for complying with the requirements of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016. The affidavit has to be filed by November 28, 2023.
