Report filed by the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board dated 30/10/2023.
A committee was constituted by the District Collector for inspection of the 'Integrated municipal solid waste disposal facility and sanitary landfill' site at Balicha, Udaipur. The MSWD Balicha site was visited on September 1, 2023.
The committee recommended that for treatment of legacy waste at Balicha site, the legacy waste remediation plant should be strengthened and expansion of the plant is required.
The Urban Improvement Trust, Udaipur and Municipal Corporation, Udaipur should identify more locations for the treatment of municipal solid waste around Udaipur city to reduce long transportation and better regulation and to decrease the load at Balicha site. In addition, collection and segregation of roadside solid waste should be done in a more scientific manner and more collection sites need to be provided.
