Nagaland Tourism Policy, 2024
The Government of Nagaland on March 14, 2024, notified the Nagaland Tourism Policy, 2024. In order to implement programmes of the infrastructural development, strengthening promotion and marketing efforts and generating tourism awareness to the general public, and promote Nagaland as sustainable, community-centered tourism, preservation of diverse culture and its natural beauty, with immediate effect. The vision of the policy is to ensure that tourism developments and benefits are broad-based to support local economy, social and economic prosperity starting from the grass-root level. To create Nagaland as a Green Destination along with work towards afforestation and preservation of the varied traditional flora and fauna in its pursuit towards building the tourism industry. The policy holds the objective to promote tourism activities that have minimal negative impact on the environment, culture, and heritage of Nagaland, while maximizing the positive socio-economic benefits for local communities.
