Goa noise action plan

The state government has revised the action plan to control noise pollution to ensure stricter compliance, which includes timelines for bursting firecrackers during festivals, as per the directives of the Supreme Court. Additionally, the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) has been tasked with carrying out noise level mapping along with police officials after identifying locations in different zones. Based on the mapping, remedial measures will be suggested to curb noise levels exceeding permissible limits. The state government notified the Revised State Action Plan for Control of Noise Pollution. It supersedes the previous notification from January 2022 and aims to streamline the process of noise monitoring and mapping, while ensuring strict compliance with prescribed standards.
