Asian rubbish

  • 14/03/2001

Asian rubbish Asian countries seem to compete with each other to spew out waste. Rising populations, increasing urbanisation and better incomes mean the volume of waste generated is bound to go up in the future. How much of the municipal solid waste is organic and what other substances present depends, to a limited extent, on factors like geographical location, energy sources and the weather. The hazardous waste, non-biodegradable material in the waste can certainly be curtailed. They pose a threat to public health and the environment.
