BWSSB to provide water, sanitation to 96 slums

Rs 39-crore project to be implemented with aid from Japanese agency The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board is all set to take up a project to supply water and provide sanitation to slums in the City, early next year. As many as 96 of the 362 slums have been selected for the first phase of the project. Speaking at a public consultation here on Friday, Narayana, Chief Engineer, Cauvery Project, BWSSB, said providing water and sanitation to slums were part of the JICA (Japan International Co-operation Agency) project.
