'Clock ticking' on global warming: UN climate chief
Time is running out in the fight against global warming, the UN's top climate change official warned as a new round of UN talks got started here on Thursday.
"There is little time left to get a solid negotiating text on the table. Clearly the clock is ticking," said Yvo de Boer, executive secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
"People in a burning house cannot afford to lose time in an argument," he said, citing an Ashanti proverb.

Forget warming, greenhouse gases may trigger ice age
Filling the atmosphere with greenhouse gases associated with global warming
could push the planet into a new ice age, scientists have
warned.
Researchers at the University of Birmingham found that 630 million years ago the earth had a warm atmosphere full of carbon dioxide but was completely covered with ice, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Moving on to communicate and create renewable energy

CHENNAI: The Indian Youth Climate Network set out on its 4,000 km ‘Climate Solutions’ road tour from the University of Madras on Saturday.
The IYCN members are going on a tour of 20 cities across the country to promote renewable energy as a viable solution to reduce carbon emissions that lead to global warming.
