Dharbandoda mine closed

The Salgaonkar mine at Tatodi-Dharbandoda in Sanguem taluka has been shut down by the management.
According to sources, the decision has been taken by the management due to reduction in the demand for iron ores from countries like China.

Centre green light to mineral mines expansion

The Union forest ministry has given environmental clearance to the proposed expansion plans of Usha Martin Limited’s mining facility in West Singhbhum.
The company in a press release today stated that they had received the clearance, which paved the way for exploration at the Vijay-II mines at Noamundi in the district.
