Reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries (REDD) This paper summarises the importance of wetlands in relation to climate change, as a basis for examining their potential role in the measures for Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD) being discussed under the Kyoto Protocol. The question is addressed also in relation to relevant aspects of other intergovernmental agreements.
