The UN Human Development Report has emphasised the need to focus on long-term development goals. And this agreement reflects UN's emphasis on basic education as a crucial input for the programmes on sustainable human development and poverty alleviation. The scheme will be implemented in 100 blocks, small towns and urban slums in eight states. To begin with, the programme will be implemented in 139 slums in Hyderabad and 332 slums in Jaipur.
