Building environmental resilience: a snapshot of farmers adapting to climate change in Kenya

This publication provides one of the most comprehensive insights into the organisations and initiatives working to build resilience in agriculture in Kenya. On the basis of the evidence arising from the case studies presented in this report, Greenpeace proposes to put climate change at the forefront of agricultural development and suggest that stakeholders should take into account early action on adaptation with mitigation co-benefits. This report will be indispensable to a wide range of readers, including researchers, development practitioners, extension workers, and farmers who tackle the inextricably linked climate change and food security issues. Building resilience into the agricultural systems of rural communities in East Africa requires building and restoring the ability of ecosystems to buffer change.
