Question raised in Rajya Sabha on Implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission, 21/12/2015. The Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) {SBM-G} has been launched on 2nd October, 2014 with a goal of attaining Swachh Bharat by 2nd October, 2019 by accelerating sanitation coverage in the rural areas. Since the launch of SBM(G), there has been a spurt in the progress made under the programme. Against the expected outcome of 50 lakh for individual latrines for the year 2014-15, 58,54,987 latrines were constructed. During 2015-16, 60.88 lakh toilets have already been constructed as on 17.12.2015. Since the launch of Swachh Bharat Mission(Gramin) on 2nd October, 2014, 119 lakh toilets have already been constructed as on 17.12.2015. State/UT-wise details is at Annexure-1. Under Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), so far 5.91 lakh individual household toilets and 28948 community and public toilets seats have been completed. State/UT-wise details is at Annexure-2. The Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) has been launched on 2nd October, 2014. Under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin), Central share released during 2014-15 and 2015-16(As on 17-12-2015) is at Annexure-3. Under Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), so far Rs. 1361.37 crore has been released to States/UTs. State/UT-wise details is at Annexure-4.
