Several mining leases in Faridabad and Gurgaon are either owned or operated by politicians, the number being more than 12 out of 30 in the former. The break-up:

Four leases (including Maruti Minerals and J K Impex) are allegedly owned by Haryana chief minister (CM) Om Prakash Chautala's close aides
Five leases are being run by state cooperatives minister Kartar Singh Bhadana and his associates. He is a partner in a couple of operations (including those of the Sethi group, the largest leaseholder in the district) and controls a few others that are not in his name
One lease (Ashoka Mineral) is reportedly held by the son of member of parliament (MP) and senior functionary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), R D Agarwal
Another lease is in Faridabad BJP MP R C Bainda and his brother's name
Dharamveer Bhadana, a Bahujan Samaj Party member, has control over one lease
The son of an ex-minister belonging to the Congress, Lal Singh, who is also a relative of K S Bhadana, has been given one lease (Ram Kishan Purnidevi)

"One particular lease in Soondh village is held by the wife of Zakir Hussain, a Congress legislator from Tauru. It is being run by a relative of the CM after an understanding was reached between the two parties,' alleges member of legislative assembly from Mewla Maharajpur Krishan Pal Gurjar.
