Itanagar: The National Mission on Bamboo Application (NMBA) has assured Arunachal Pradesh to provide fund for establishment of bamboo-based small scale industry in the State. The assurance was given by NMBA Director in-charge and Mission Co-ordinator Ajay Kumar to newly appointed vice-chairman of Bamboo Development Board of Arunachal Pradesh, Yora Tagung in New Delhi on Tuesday, official sources informed here today.
LUCKNOW: In a bid to promote bamboo cultivation and its usage, the state forest department along with the national bamboo mission would hold a workshop here on January 10. Currently, in India, there are 1,275 varieties of bamboo. The national bamboo mission is to be implemented in 20 districts of the state. UP had sanctioned Rs 4.10 crore under the mission in 2008.

The Forest department of the State has undertaken an ambitious project of bamboo plantation to strengthen the economic foundation of the State.
