CIL rejects Greenpeace charge on coal reserves
State-run Coal India (CIL) on Tuesday refuted the charge of Greenpeace that it had deceived its shareholders by concealing its true level of extractable reserves of coal. The world’s largest coal miner said the allegation made by the global environmental lobby was “absolutely preposterous” and “misinformation campaign” against it as the change in extractable reserves of the fuel from amount mentioned while listing of the company is owing to “classification of reserves under different measurement norms”.
