Soon, spot penalty for plastic bag ban violation

New Delhi: Violating the ban on the use and distribution of plastic bags in the city can soon lead to spot fines. To make the ban more effective, Delhi government is mulling a change in the Delhi Plastic Bag (Manufacture, Sales and Usage) and Garbage (Control) Act 2000 and the January 2009 notification under which use of plastic bags was prohibited in the city.
