NSC distributes seeds in drought-hit east India
New Delhi: To help farmers in eastern India tide over the drought, the National Seed Corporation (NSC) has distributed tonnes of short-duration crop seeds to state government of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Orissa.
“We are have distributed 11,000 quintal of short-duration crop seeds to Bihar and Jharkhand and 1,000 quintal to West Bengal,” NSC chairman and managing director SK Roongta told

Home-grown dengue scare
Ranchi, Sept. 8: Dengue has arrived on Jharkhand’s doorstep with two confirmed cases reported in the last two days.
Both patients are under treatment at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS). While one developed the symptoms in Delhi, the other appeared to have contracted the virus in the state.

Forest Rights Act: Goa gets a zero
Implementation of the ‘Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act’ is ‘Zero’ in Goa, according to Minister of Tribal Affairs Kanti Lal Bhuria.
