Bangalore mobility indicators 2008
This study on different facets of mobility in Bangalore covers major parts of BBMP limits and also deals with Travel Time Index, Congestion Index, Safety Index , Mobility & Accessibility Measures. It recommends strategies for a better integrated land use and transport system and discusses the roles of various stakeholders in promoting them.
The Objective of the study is to: Provide public with a sense of whether system performance is improving or getting worse; Track progress of the various transportation interventions; Provide trend information - implications for transportation policy and investment decisions; Provide basis for comparisons among, sub-areas of the metropolitan city and also between different metropolitan areas; and To develop a number of such performance measures for Bangalore that will be updated annually to assess the mobility trends of the City.
