UN award for community scheme in Nagaland
A unique programme in Nagaland, which aimed at and achieved community participation in local governance, has been selected for a top UN award for public service. The award will be given to Union Steel Secretary RS Pandey tomorrow at New York, on the occasion of the UN Public Service Day. Pandey will be given the award for his pioneering efforts, during his stint as the Nagaland Chief Secretary in 2002-04, for better public utilities.

KAADC donates Rs 50 lakh for State's flood-hit
The Karbi Anglong Autonomous District Council donated a sum of Rs. 50 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund on Saturday to assist flood-affected people of the State, an official release said. Calling on Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi at his office chamber in Dispur, a delegation led by the Chief Executive Member of KAADC Mangal Singh Ingti handed over a cheque of the said amount.
