The National Green Tribunal, (NGT) with its landmark pro-environment judgments, is emerging one of the strongest critics of the ministry of environment and forests. In around 30 judgments it has given so far, the National Green Tribunal has been extremely critical of the lack of adequate environment impact assessments conducted by the MoEF prior to the granting of a clearance.

विभिन्न मानकों पर यूपी की 956 इंडस्ट्री की होगी जांच नैशनल ग्रीन ट्रिब्यूनल (एनजीटी) ने गंगा में गंदगी बहाने वाली इंडस्ट्रीज के खिलाफ सख्त रुख बरकरार रखा है। ट्रिब्यूनल ने सेंट्रल पल्यूशन कंट्रोल बोर्ड (सीपीसीबी) के अधिकारी को उत्तर प्रदेश पल्यूशन कंट्रोल बोर्ड (यूपीपीसीबी) और नैशनल गंगा रिवर बेसिन अथॉरिटी के साथ मिलकर उन सभी 956 इंडस्ट्रीज का निरीक्षण करने का निर्देश दिया है, जिन्हें बोर्ड की रिपोर्ट में पल्यूटिंग यूनिट के तौर पर अंकित किया गया है। ट्रिब्यूनल ने कमिटी को कई और मुद्दों पर जांच करने के बाद रिपोर्ट बेंच को सौंपने का निर्देश दिया है।

Mumbai: Action has been recommended against several developers by the state environment appraisal committee (SEAC-2) for undertaking construction without prior environment clearance (EC).
