Parking Fee Linked To Locality
New Delhi Vehicle owners in the Capital might soon have to shell out more depending on where they park their vehicles. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has finalised a revised parking policy that proposes to link parking rates to house or property tax of the area. The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) already fixes parking rates based on their location, congestion and other factors.
<p>On Feb 7, 2018, the National Green Tribunal issued notices to Union environment ministry and the governments of the states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi over illegal operation of brick kilns in these four states. <p>Considering request of the Delhi government, NGT has stayed for two weeks its order to impound old diesel vehicles plying in the capital city for more than 10 years. The green tribunal also sought suggestions from the state government on providing incentives to those transferring/scrapping old, polluting diesel vehicles and on fixing a cap on the number of vehicles to be registered in the capital. </p>
