Adani Ports and SEZ (APSEZ) has sought fresh approval from the government for 1,840 hectare multi-product special economic zone, which was denotified in October due to non-conformity with SEZ rules. "We have sought permission for a new SEZ and have made several representations to the government. We hope to get the approval in the present quarter itself," APSEZ's Chief Financial Officer B Ravi said. Government sources said meanwhile that the Board of Approval (BoA), the apex body for SEZs, has not yet taken up the matter.
BDA, Govt Abusing Sec 14A: Plea Bangalore: The Karnataka high court on Thursday directed the government not to grant permission for change of land use for properties situated in the metropolitan area of Bangalore city. “There shall be an interim order of stay of any further proceedings relating to change of land use under Section 14(A) of the KTCP in relation to properties within the metropolitan area of Bangalore city,’’ Justice Ram Mohan Reddy said in his interim order. This is in relation to a petition filed by CN Kumar, resident of Jayanagar, challenging section 14A of Karnataka Town and Country Planning Act (KTCP), 1961.
The Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) is all set to reach up to the sky with a 26-floor residential complex planned in the Mansarovar area. The highrise will be the tallest to be built by any civic body in the history of Rajasthan. According to senior officials, planning for the building has been completed and it will be a high-end four BHK product. The height of the residential building will be approximately between 65 and 70 metres. Earlier , it was estimated the building would be 24 storied, however , after calculations it was learnt it can constructed upto 26 storied.
The Parrikar government might find itself in a tight corner over the utilization of land admeasuring 1.15 lakh sq mts in Davorlim acquired by the previous government with local villagers demanding that the same be utilized for projects beneficial to locals. BG:The SEZ subject is based on the premise of creating an entirely new entity meant to promote exports, brought to make industry more competitive. It was perceived as “anti-farmer”. Maharashtra had started 144 SEZs. In the meantime, due to opposition, the Centre introduced tax changes and imposed minimum alternate tax and dividend distribution tax on SEZ companies. Though the SEZ concept remained, it became non-viable. The question arose what to do with the land locked in SEZs, whether it can be put to good industrial use. The new industrial policy provides an option.
Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has alleged that Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing Company Ltd obtained approval for its modified proposal to utilise 33,545 sq m of its 41,895 sq m mill land in Dadar-Naigaon in central Mumbai for commercial development “in cahoots” with a section officer working in the Textile Department. A 38-storey residential-cum-commercial tower is under construction on the plot, popularly known as Spring Mills.
Palike admits to delay in completion of the work A grant of Rs 192 crore provided to the City under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM) for remodelling primary and secondary Storm Water Drains (SWDs) across four valleys —Vrishabhavathi, Challaghatta, Hebbal and Koramanagala — seems to have literally gone down the drain. According to Bruhat Bengalurur Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials, a fresh proposal to remodel the drains in the 800 sq km area under the Palike will replace the JnNURM scheme meant initially to cover 257 km of storm water drains in the four valleys.
The Odisha government has decided to take away land allotted to industries, which are just sitting on the property without setting up their projects for years together. Land leased out for any project will now go back to the government if it remains un-utilized for three years, as per a decision taken by the State Cabinet – a move aimed at weeding out non-serious developers. “At first we will issue showcause notices to lessees who have not utilized land within three years. If the reply is not found to be satisfactory, the state government will reserve the right to take back the allotted land”, chief secretary B K Patnaik told the media after the Cabinet meet.
