HC seeks details of land use changes in city after 2005
Court Had Directed JDA To Be Cautious About Green Belt Jaipur: A division bench of Rajasthan High Court has asked the state government to submit details of all land use changes effected in the Master Plan of Jaipur region after March 2005. The order came on a contempt petition filed by one Prakash Shukla. In March 2005, while disposing of a PIL filed by one Yashwant Sharma, a division bench of Justice Shiv Kumar Sharma and Justice K S Rathore had asked the state government to earmark 200 bigha of land for ecological zone in Jaipur region as also to restrain from making wholesale and casual land use changes in the Master Plan of Jaipur in future.

MMRDA study finds several rivers, drains in critical condition
It is not just the Mithi river that is susceptible to degradation due to encroachment and dumping. There are at least two more rivers and six natural drains in the city that are highly vulnerable and in need of immediate attention, as per a recent study funded by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). These are the Oshiwara river, Poisar river, Vikhroli nullah, Mogra nullah, Tilak Nagar nullah, Piramal Nagar nullah, Irla nullah and Safed Pul nullah and are part of the five rivers and 19 natural drains in the city. According to the study, the Dahisar river also needs attention but is not as critical as the others.

Curbs on use of estate land for tourism in Kerala
The Cabinet on Wednesday decided to limit the extent of land that can be used by plantations for tourism purposes.
